Horror News: Neil Marshall May Captain ‘The Demeter’

Dark, disturbing, claustrophobic, and suffocating, like a dead, decomposing albatross draped upon the shoulders of the subconscious.

Neil Marshall’s The Descent was more than just another film about creatures that go bump in the dark. The primal, brutal, disgusting nature of the creatures forced the civilized protagonists to bury their modern sensibilities in order to survive. The film was less about the descent into an uncharted cave filled with flesh-devouring monsters, and more about the descent into madness. And then Marshall goes on to ask us the question to which we do not want to know the answer. Is it ever possible to go back?

You have haunted houses. You have ghost towns. But how about an entire city crawling with the shadows of the dead and the damned? Enter Pripyat, Ukraine.

A new still has been released from the upcoming film Chernobyl Diaries, from Alcon and FilmNation. Keeping us in the dark, literally and figuratively, the picture offers us very little, except the lingering knowledge that when the sun goes down, the residents who never left Pripyat come out. It seems radiation sickness is the least of your worries when visiting the wastelands of Chernobyl.

Horror News: Will Seth Rogen Survive the Apocalypse?

Posted by:

People may say that horror movies don’t feel real.

“These are just actors. This is just a movie. It’s not really happening.” Is it?

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are teaming up again to bring us the End of the World. Inspired by a short film entitled Jay and Seth vs the Apocalypse, the film also includes James Franco, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, and Craig Robinson. Also in talks to appear are Jason Segel, David Krumholtz, and Emma Watson.

A stellar cast to be sure, but what’s the catch? They will all be playing themselves. That’s right. We get to see how some of our favorite comedic actors cope with the apocalypse while trapped inside James Franco’s apartment.
