The Chronicles of Horror Movie Night: Necropolis (1987)

Posted by:

After starting in Washington D.C. nine years ago Horror Movie Night has expanded to include chapters in Austin, Dallas and Chicago. Horror’s Not Dead’s own Brian Kelley is the originator and programmer of this illustrious weekly Wednesday night tradition which features a “classic” horror film. Each week I will be reviewing/commenting on the past week’s selection so do your best to find the film, most of which have not made it past VHS, and follow along. Better yet, start your own chapter!

This week at Horror Movie Night we got to sit down to witness a tale of reincarnation, devil worship, and dancing. In 1987 Bruce Hickey directed his one and only film that would propel him into levels of complete nothingness. It would not become a hit, nor even a cult favorite. After almost 25 years it remains as unseen as it ever was and out of conversation amongst genre film fans everywhere. But for all the lack of attention Necropolis receives, there are some moments of pure awesome contained in its brief 77 minutes.
