I completely empathize with you on this issue.

Between the After Dark movies, The Telling, Death Factory Bloodletting, Ghosts of Goldfield, Virus Undead, Shuttle, Bad Bilology, Cthulhu… I’m in the same rut as you are.

It’s hard to muster the motivation to sit a review a movie when they’re so poor, because as you said, the words just don’t come.

I’m hoping things get better soon.

You know what you should do, Peter? You should move to a warmer climate where it’s always (at least partially) sunny. It’ll improve your disposition and overall outlook, making watching and writing about horror films all the more appealing!

I thought it was just me! I struggle with my horror writing and inspiration when the weather improves. Lucky for us here in Australia we are headed into Winter and I am rubbing my hands with glee. Good luck with your writers block I hope it clears soon it can be very demoralizing.

Oh trust me, I know I should be writing about them. That’s just it, though, I can’t bring myself too. I’ve had writer’s block for weeks.

Just because the movies you watched sucked, doesn’t mean you can’t write about them. Tell us how badly they sucked in scathing terms, like most critics do.
