Can't get off....almost....uuuuhhhhh. (sigh) Wow. hoooooooooo-buddy. My first orgasm while commenting.

..............

Anyway. I know distributors release short films on dvd, but the ones I tend to find are dramas that have some kind of critical acclaim due to the Oscars, or major festivals.
That link Peter posted to the Fantasia fest short collection is the kind of stuff I'd like to see, and think other horror fans might also if they knew it was available.

You just had me torturing my early morning brain trying to figure out the name to an excellent anthology of horror shorts. Took me a zillion tries at Google to figure out what it was called, but now I'm ordering the damned thing because I've been meaning to for years:

I'm a little surprised that distributors don't really purchase any short films to release, even on dvd as part of some anthology or something. Horror shorts in particular I think can have a pretty decent market if they had some exposure.

I know I'd be much more inclined to watch a collection of decent to really good horror shorts instead of a lackluster full-length feature. And it would probably be a lot cheaper for a studio to acquire four 20 minute short films to release on one dvd instead of one full-length feature.

Horror fans I think are the perfect type of audience for short films because we enjoy anthologies where the stories don't need to connect, and we're fans of monster-of-the-week horror television. I've seen at least a handful of good horror short films that I'd purchase on dvd if it was packaged with a few others and was standard price.

Makes sense to me anyway.
