Things look different.

Things look different.

Welcome to the initial launch of the new site layout.  As you can see, things are a tad different and still in infancy.  Any bugs should be reported using that fancy, functional contact tab towards the upper right hand corner of your electronic internet viewbox.  Any positive input should also be directed solely towards me and should by no means ever be directed to my nemesis Chris Bowyer, owner of Movieforums.com, who not only did the hard work, but did every shred of work while I sat and fired off encouraging and direction filled emails.  And by direction filled, I mean subject lines of "Let’s kick this pig!" and by encouraging I mean repeatedly asking if he secretly wished his last name was Bauer.

There are a few features not yet live.  Monthly DVD guides will change quite a bit, which I will confess to be very happy about.  They will be replaced by that DVD Box at the bottom of the main page, which will feature each week’s DVDs and corresponding links.  I probably won’t be providing very much commentary about said DVDs, but it’ll make it easier for me to list everything - good and bad - coming out that week.  We plan to eventually have a sort of Film Calendar as well, which will feature release dates for any major films in the future.  I’ll be compiling a list of quotes for that random generator up top (which with my tastes will be far more verbose and pretentious than the quote Chris used, which I think is a slight at me), as well as a directory of horror sites and blogs for more sources in the footer.  Also on my end I plan to overhaul the categories, change my rating system as well as a few typographical things (all titles will now be caps locked; I’m tired of italicizing the same thing over and over).

I believe those to be the remaining sticking points right now.  Let the criticism begin.  Also, if there is a feature you feel the site is lacking, now is the perfect time to suggest.  Thanks.

Aye, we’re going to re-style the comments and add some new features in the coming weeks. Don’t panic if something looks plain, a little misaligned, or, you know, completely stupid. There’s a chance it won’t soon.

(and yes, the quote is a shot at you, Peter.)

    “MORE blog entries”?

Does that mean there are other blog entries? Or, are you saying that these are entries that are more blog-like?

    just a question…
