The Vault of Horror Tabulates the ‘50 Best Horror Films of All Time’.

B-Sol, he of the great Vault of Horror and fellow member of the LOTTD was recently (and rightfully) offended by HMVs survey of the top 50 Horror Films of all time.  Aghast at the poor elections, The Vault opened its doors to 32 of the more vocal horror bloggers on the web (myself humbly included) and asked for individual top 10 lists.  B-Sol than took everyone’s lists, assigned selections a nominal point value and, when all was said and done, ended up with an authoritative top 50 list.

This was actually something I began to do two years ago for this very site.  Pissed at crap like Bravo’s Even Scarier Movie Moments, I decided to do the exact same thing, but on a much larger scale.  It was Halloween at the time and I had pages of lists bookmarked and a stack of magazines claiming to be the list.  Inevitable laziness kicked in and I never got the project off the ground.

B-Sol, however, is not lazy, so I eagerly point you again towards his compilation.  I’ll not sully his work by republishing it here, but I’d like to point out that of my own list, only four found their way in the top ten, none of which shared final placement.  My number ten choice, a title I’d rather not admit to, appropriately didn’t penetrate the top 50.

Um, Joe. If it were Tail Sting he WOULD be waving that flag proudly I’m sure. If I had enough time to sit down and guess I MIGHT be able to get it eventually. I just know I’m 110% sure it’s not Stay Alive….. Pretty sure…. Is it Stay Alive?
