Last Week in Horror, June 8th to the 15th

Last Week in Horror, there was a ton of FRIDAY THE 13th remake tidbits.  Pictures of the Camp Crystal Lake sign, pictures of the hockey mask, talk of fan winks and mention that both the sack and the mask get play.  There is a teaser for Alexandre Aja’s remake of MIRRORS.  It is short and not very compelling, but I have faith the movie will work.

If you’ve been dying for a CHILDREN OF THE CORN remake, you’ve been answered.  Poorly.

the mask looks like the mask from Part 3(D). which is awesome. i still, however, do not trust platinum dunes OR Form & Fuller as far as i can throw them after 5 tallboys of steel reserve.

i will happily eat my words if they (AGAINST ALL LOGIC) manage to come through and really deliver on their promise this time out.

but i shan’t be holding my fuckin’ breath.

i’m happy about the WAXWORK remake for one reason alone (the only reason i’m usually happy about ANY remake)… it means we’ll finally get a decent goddamn DVD release of the original.

i was actually hoping for a CHILDREN OF THE CORN remake at some point (hopefully courtesy of Aja or the INSIDE duo or somebody like-minded) and now… now i’m just fucking depressed.

also, NO MORE FUCKING INTERNET OR CELL PHONE RELATED HORROR (not including THE LAN, of course). THANKS, GUYS.

Oh man, Waxwork was brilliant. It had all the elements of an 80s horror movie, it was like watching Fright Night with even MORE monsters crammed into it.

BUT R.J. IF YOU TEXT YOU DIE!

The “Murder is how he has sex” one sounds like it’s going to be really silly, but I’ll watch it anyways.

When you think about it, it was inevitable that 3-D would break down the Fourth Wall. Ba-dum-ching.

You used too many big words. Before, “I fucking love THE CHILDREN.” I had no idea what the hell you were talking about....
