Horror's Not Dead

"Can't even shout, Can't even cry, the Gentlemen are coming by. Looking in windows, Knocking on doors, They need to take seven and they might take yours. Can't call to mom, Can't say a word, You're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard."
-- Hush, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"

Theatrical Trailers and Clips
ILS (Them) - Good, but way too long of a trailer
Beowolf
Resident Evil: Extinction
30 Days of Night - Longer, Red Band Trailer + exclusive scene (FLV format) - God damn this movie looks good!

Studio News and Attachments
No studio yet, but I’m sure it will have one - Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard just finished writing what God Whedon dubs, "the horror film to end all horror films — literally", called Cabin in the Woods.
Speaking of, Whedon says he has plans for a Ripper movie to hit the BBC next year!
MGM shells out for The Poughkeepsie Tapes, which lit a luke warm fire at festivals earlier this year, and plans a Feb ‘08 release.

Remakes
Thora Birch snags the once Jamie Lee Curtis lead in Train, the remake which drops Terror from its title to keep things sophisticated.
Script review for The Birds turns up at IESB, waffles indecisively between calling it good or bad.
Johnny Depp wants to produce and star in a feature length Dark Shadows as the lead vampire Barnabas Collins.
Rob Zombie shoots down any idea of him doing a Halloween sequel with logic that means he should still have only one flick under his belt, but whatever I still consider it good news.

Random and Indie News
Romero half-announces an untitled project for himself.  Yes, it is about zombies.
The Hallmark Channel steps up for some nature gone crazy with obviously titled Shark Swarm.
Aussie flick Prey takes the high road in viral hype, leaking news that a lesbian shower scene may be, "too hot" to stay in the final cut.
