I keep seeing the word "predictable." Um, isn't this whole movie a homage to the fun and "predictable" slasher movies of our 80's fame? So wouldn't complaining about the "predictability" of this movie be evidence that you didn't get the point?

i loved this movie. yeah maybe it was predictable, but what horror film isnt, i mean really. i think they took the genre to a whole other level by opening the idea that all the things that seemed unreal and far-fetched about horror movies was actually very realistic and not impossible. i mean if you spent enough time and energy you could actually pull something like this off. for me, it revised all the old films in the way of knowledge of how these massacres are planned, it makes all the old school horror icons seem like master-minds, and that makes it all the more fun.IMO

I dug this, but I agree with your review for the most part. After all the hype, I couldn't help but be disappointed when I finally got around to seeing it. It had some clever moments, and was a neat lil' idea overall, but it was pretty overrated (IMHO). I'll probably sell my DVD eventually, as I don't think I really have any desire to ever see it again . . . .

Yeah, I had an issue with the part when it cuts from camera to live action for me, it was a "Oh look, you saw this coming from a mile away..." thing for me. I think if they shut it off when Leslie escorts them out and goes back in the house, that the movie would have ended up better.

Although I did enjoy the final scene with the credits rolling, such a nice toss up to the old movies that always had that happening.
