My introductory post is not half as organized and coherent as I'd hoped, but here's the link.

I see how it is. Piggy back off of the massive popularity of my site to promote your hedonistic den of amateur film debauchery!

I wrote a fairly long reply about this, but I think it would make a pretty good thread on MoFo, so I might just post it there, if that's cool and all.

This is where you sarcastically say something like "No, it's not. I forbid it."

the concept of alien abduction scares the hell out of me.

especially when driving through the desert or any stretch between Colorado and New Mexico late at night.

thanks go to FIRE IN THE SKY and all the alien abduction books i read in junior high.

Yeah, but wouldn't it reason more that a being with intelligence, who choses willfully to harm others, be worse than someone with only one goal?

Aliens, in concept, don't frighten me; what gets to me is aliens who are humanoid. And if they have a lithe frame, bulbous head and oval eyes...I'm done for.

I know this isn't about Altered, specifically, but my best friend has a fear of aliens, too, and I can't for the life of me relate to it. I find the idea of aliens philosophically intriguining, and full of fascinating possibilities, but not especailly terrifying. Probably because the aliens in these films are always intelligent, and I presume they can be potentially reasoned with. Far scarier, to me, are the Samaras and such of the horror world, who are utterly single-minded and devoid of personality.

Couldn't agree more. I enjoyed ALTERED thoroughly, warts and all.

I am also happy to find another ally in the pro-Blair Witch camp. I was beginning to think i was the only one amidst all the nay-sayers and apologists.

Say what you will, that film was clever and it worked.
