I finally got to check it out, I enjoyed it. It was a nice throwback to the corny "trapped in the woods" slasher films of the 70's. It was not the rebirth of the genre...but it was a nice ride.

For the record, I finally saw Hatchet a few months back. I haven't written the review yet, as I want to watch it again to be sure and I am also profoundly lazy. It was good, nothing great.

Am I the only person on the face of the Earth who has basically NO desire to see this?

(and, for the record, I was raised on 80's slasher films)

Hatchet is the best movie ever. The box office records are so off the charts that they shattered the counting machine... which is why you still haven't seen any numbers.

It's a good thing you didn't try to make it to Baltimore, as it was standing room only and even that was sold out.

Twice.

Hatchet: It is SO not a Japanese one.

(Was that good enough? Can I get my check now?)

Dear Horrors Not Dead,
It is my unfortunate duty to inform you that this website may be currently subject to an attack of Guerrilla Marketing. It has been my suspicion on previous occasions in which a certain movie, here after referred to as "AX", may be connected with these attacks. However, they still remain just suspicions, and as to the final verdict, i will leave it to you fair readers of HnD to reserve judgment for yourself. But first, you must ask yourself some questions. First, Who are these new people posting on HnD? More importantly, why do they only post when AX is mentioned? And really, of all these anomalous posts, as true as they may be about buzz for AX, How many are negative? It is not beyond the scope of a computer program to actively scan the internet for the mention of certain words in relation to others. Nor is it beyond the scope to limit that program to show only recent updates and distribute those found to a predetermined e-mail group as tasking. Now, having immersed myself in the study of CI and recently talking to an unnamed friend who is employed by a pharmaceutical company to employ such clandestine activities on a collegiate level, i have made my own personal decision. Your decision is your own.

Amendum - Wouldn't employing this technique of underground publicity, focused on talking about how much underground buzz a certain movie has, only perpetuate the "Buzz" behind it? Interesting technique if you really think about it

'Yossairian whistled, "Thats some catch that Catch-22." Dunbar just smiled and replied "Its the best there is."'

Brian, nope, never did find any official numbers. When the Box Office lists start getting updated later tonight, that might change, but I'm still doubtful.

Scott, Damnit, I am getting off my lazy ass and watching Behind the Mask this week. I have sat on that movie for far too long now.
