Frontier(S) - Unearthed - After Dark

Of all the After Dark acquisitions, these two are my most anticipated.  Firstly, Frontier(s), about neo-Nazi cannibals in the woods, has been getting great buzz after a few festival playings.  Bloody-Disgusting’s head honcho even went so far as to give it a perfect score.  I’ve been keeping my eye out for an import DVD of this one, but thanks to this week long theatrical push I no longer have to.

Second up, Matthew Leutwyler’s Unearthed, which serves as the directors sophomore film after the fantastic Dead & BreakfastUnearthed hasn’t been getting nearly the same amount of love as Frontier(s), but I couldn’t care less.  I think Dead & Breakfast is a complete riot.  I can put it on whenever for whomever and the room will instantly fill with infectious laughter.  Not everyone shares the same love for it - regular reader John, for one, isn’t too fond - but Dead & Breakfast put enough good credit in my bank that I will watch anything Leutwyler does for the rest of his career.

Sadly, there is a good chance I’ll be traveling for work in November, likely during the national ‘festival’s’ run of November 9-18th.  It’s cool if I just buy a ticket online from Cyprus and send someone from home into the theater with a webcam, right?  Seems perfectly reasonable to me…
