OK, I think I knew that. The “surprisingly didn’t fall to the wayside” line made me think otherwise though.

I actually liked the TCM remake. I don’t think it’s as kickass as the Dawn remake, but it held its own and is one of the better “re-imaginings” to come out of the studio system.

Same thing happened to me with the original Wicker Man. I had a whole host of people on MovieForums praising it any chance they got, and I just don’t see why. Watching it was an endurance test.

I take it then that you didn’t like the TCM remake? I thought it was great. (Totally had me at the hitchhiker scene.)

Of course, every other damn incarnation of the franchise has sucked, but I’ll be renting the DVD release of this one for sure. In the meantime, thanks for the new desktop wallpaper.

As for the Wicker Man—with Nicholas Cage no less—I’ll pass. I’ve never been more dissapointed in a movie than I was with the original. I blame the Losman, who’s website (Losman’s Lair of Horror — RIP) built that thing up in my mind way, way bigger than it ever should have been.
