Horror's Not Dead

"The end is near. I hear a noise at the door, as of some immense slippery body lumbering against it. It shall not find me. God, that hand! The window! The window!"

You know, i find it very interesting that it’s only when the horror movie opening on Christmas is specifically Christmas-themed that any of these idiots actually come out to complain about it.

DARKNESS? WOLF CREEK? where was all the backlash then?

they opened on Christmas… but then again, i’m guessing the date isn’t their real problem… it’s just the excuse so as to avoid looking like enemies of free speech.

and i know that - for the most part - i stand alone in my love for THE ROOST, but i am very excited for TRIGGER MAN. it’ll be nice to see what West is capable of when he has to direct a film that’s just a film and not automatically viewed as some kind of homage or tribute. and if that trailer is any indicator, he should be just fine. because i, for one, think it looks awesome.

too bad his next is a CABIN FEVER sequel.

    barf.

i’ve seen BEHIND THE MASK twice now… and i still have yet to see a trailer that does it any justice.

Woah, woah, woah. You’ve seen Behind the Mask twice? And I’ve seen it not a once?

    Fuck you.

    Ha ha.

    I get that a lot.

i’m telling you, though, SEVERANCE is the one you really want to see. that is, if you haven’t seen it yet, which i’m assuming you haven’t. otherwise you would’ve already posted a review praising it up and down.

Actually watched it the other night, just haven’t written the review yet out of sheer laziness.

Same goes for 13 Tzameti, though that isn’t much of a horror film anyway.

    dude.

    did you hear about HALLOWEEN?

Malcolm McDowell as Loomis? Decent, I suppose… but i still would’v preffered Paul Giamatti.

oh, and i really hope that talk about Danielle Harris is just a fucking rumor. she is FAR TOO OLD to be playing Laurie. And I’m positive Rue Morgue ran a story where Rob Zombie himself said he would not be casting anyone from the previous series in “wink wink” roles.

    seriously.
