Some things about those Snakes

Some things about those Snakes

August 18th 2006 @ 1:44 pm

1.  People will randomly yell Snakes on a Plane.  This isn’t that funny, but put it up with it in the begining and it’ll die down once people get into the movie.

2.  The movie is solid entertainment, but it isn’t perfection.  It could have been improved in nearly every aspect.  Think of it this way: Snakes on a Plane is like a good episode of the Simpsons from one of its recent seasons.  It gets the job done and does everything you could expect, but it is a far cry from the utter perfection of higher quality work, like any episode of Arrested Development.

3.  Laugh whenever you want.  Most people will laugh at the obvious things - but just because other people aren’t laughing, doesn’t mean it isn’t hilarious.  I for one was laughing for close to 3 minutes after a snake, upon first being released, lunges at a cluster of wires, ripping them out.

And 4th - and most importantly - if you see it this weekend, pay close attention during the scene when the power gets knocked out on the plane.  I, and everyone I went with, weren’t able to tell if it was from the actual movie, or the audience, but someone yelling, "THE SNAKES!" was pure gold and I want to know if it was, in fact, part of the movie.

Oh, and make sure you see it at night with a packed crowd.  It feeds the flames of absurdity until you can’t help but have fun.

I’m pretty sure “The Snakes!” was actually in the movie. If it wasn’t, It should be! Cause that ruled.

It’s official…”the snakes!” is actually in the movie. It was barely audible in the theater I saw it though.

Overall I enjoyed it. Too bad it was a bust at the box office. Doesn’t make much sense to me.

Thanks, Brian! And yeah, I’m baffled as to Snakes’ low numbers. Utterly baffled. I guess it is a good thing I’m not a Hollywood insider.

I want to go see it.. for some reason I have the feeling its going to be one of those movies that I uncontrollably cackle through..

Like in Waiting… when it first shows ‘the dish washer’… that intro to him was so stupidly awesome i almost peed myself, but i didnt really hear anyone else laughing

I think the reason it got shot down in the box office is because no one wants to see these retards waisting money that could be spent on something better, like an actual horror movie. Sam jackson is the shit, but when your movie resides solely on the man who chose the movie because he liked the title there’s something wrong.
