I haven’t seen a whole lot of his films whole, but I’ve seen bits and pieces here and there. His early stuff seems follows the vein of Suspiria, while his later movies come off a lot more Western. I haven’t seen anything he has done over the last decade and a half, save for Jenifer, his Masters episode.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying.

The style is a big change, and I think that any time I’ve tried to watch Argento, I just wasn’t in the mood to deal with it. Have you seen many of his other films?

I’d say I liked it mainly because I appreciate it on a technical level rather than the overall merit of it as a complete film.

To put it a better way, if I were asked to make a list of classic/must see genre films, I wouldn’t include Suspiria. But if I were to make a list of horror flicks that are worth watching just to see how different they are, Suspiria would certainly make an appearance.

I’m really glad you liked that movie, mostly because I hated it.

Actually, I couldn’t stand more than the first 30 minutes, so no one knows how I really feel about the movie as a whole. Yet, it gains a little credit in the fact that you like it, if that makes any sense. (Nope.)
