Like a pothead chuckles when the clock strikes 4:20, a horror fan gets giddy over a Friday the 13th. For this upcoming 13th, I’ve nominated Chris’ isolated lake house as the perfect setting for a horror movie marathon. During said marathons, which usually feature just Christine and I in a blacked out room, the goal is to watch as many movies we haven’t seen as possible.
Considering the date and the location, this minifest has to have one calculated lineup. I’m looking for any and all suggestions on truly scary flicks to watch. Woodsy settings are preferred, but not necessary. I have some titles in mind, but I’ll hold off on posting them so as to not influence any recommendations.
1, 2, 3…Go!
I’m drawing a total blank.
Friends of mine just got me this Anchor Bay Fright Pack, so I’ll probably be watching those throughout the month. There’s one in there from the director of Cemetery Man.
Meanwhile, I guess you could watch Zombie in its entirety…
You’re going to bring all your movies anyway Peter. Does it matter? The hard part is going to be getting everyone to meet up and get down there. When our friends don’t show up on time they get lost following the wrong car and Christopher Columbus their way around a $.75 toll to my place. GJ Peter, GJ.
GPS ain’t got shit on me!
i know what i’m watching.
call me obvious, but I’m doing what I do every year (or every time this “holiday” pops up)… F13 fest, kids. 1-8. the Paramount years.
for sure.
this: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0075199/ (takes place in the woods but impossible to find, so nevermind)
or
this: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0095924/ (has nothing to do with the woods for Friday the 13th or anything but I just randomly thought about it)
I’m terrible at this.
oh man, i LOVE that movie (PULSE)… seriously.
joey lawrence vs. electricity. rampaging consumer electronics.
classic.
and is it just me, or is there really no such thing as “too much” cliff de young?
all of the “inner workings” effects shots of the appliances (particularly that one of the tv) are amazing.
I think Beau has a copy of Pulse at the video store, I’ll have to go grab that mutha.
yeah, i’m going to grab a used vhs of it for 50 cents at my nearby Hollywood video. just as soon as i get off work.
if you can get a copy of The Burning, you should check that out.
it’s a shameless rip-off of Friday the 13th (slasher with a tragic backstory murdering counselors at a summer camp)… but it’s the first film produced by the Weinsteins, with gore effects by Tom “God” Savini.
it’s a downright disgrace that it hasn’t been released on DVD.
