Colic and THE Greatest Teaser Poster EVER

Colic and THE Greatest Teaser Poster EVER

March 20th 2006 @ 2:23 pm

I’ve done some searching and can’t find a single thing on this film, but if that poster doesn’t grab you by the balls, I don’t know what does. Staring at it genuinely scares me and that’s no small feat. All I know is that the picture was taken by Jiangtou, a contributor to the much loved Twitch Film, who is at the HK Filmmart, the world’s largest Asian film market. The flick is from Thailand and is being shopped around by Sahamongkolfilm Co. Ltd. the company that brought the world Ong-Bak and the even superior Tom Yum Goong. Any company that backs Tom Yum Goong’s breakthrough choreography (the fight up the restraurant is jaw-droppingly impressive) gets a thumbs up in my book. If that same company backs a poster of an infant with a severed hand sitting next to a blender, they get my my own severed hand tossed as high into the air as I can. I promise to do my best to get my mitts on this film as fast as is humanly possible and bring you a review. "Colic…when he cried, someone dies…" Christ…

It’s pretty freak, but the kid looks like he doesn’t give a shit. “Hey, is that my lower arm? Cool”.

That’s kind of what scares me the most about the poster. I’ve still got no clue what the movie is about, so already in my head I’ve made up some story about a child who, through the severity of his own bodily mutilation, can kill people with the power of his thought or something. I’m sure the real story isn’t anything close to that, but still.

Plus, if that baby was screaming his head off, it’d be the most taboo/offensive image ever made.

I was thinking of an epidemic where parents are throwing infected body parts into blenders just to make sure it doesn’t infect them or the rest of their child.

Haha, I like the way you think!

I did a little search on colic - becauses it sounds like a disease - and came up with this:

“Colic is when a baby cries for longer than three hours every day for more than three days a week. It is the extreme end of normal crying behaviour. The condition is harmless, though it can be very distressing for parents or carers. The cause is not known, but there are ways to help calm a baby down.”

“There is no single medicine or proven cure for colic, but there are several measures that may help. Different babies are comforted by different measures, and parents usually need to try various methods to see what works.”

Yeah, like cutting of his hand and throwing it into a blender.
