America Hates David Cronenberg and Me

America Hates David Cronenberg and Me

Seriously, why the hell does Cronenberg, save for Criterion releases of course, get so shafted with his American releases?  First I came across a Canadian Cronenberg Boxset.  But hey, at least that’s a region 1 release, so if I wanted to pay the shipping fees…

But then England had to slap me in the face with this bad mutha:

Look at that thing!  It’s times like this that make me respect my conscious decision to not buy a region free DVD player, because I know I’d only dig myself deeper into debt ordering things like this left and right.  But I think living in abject squalor may be worth owning that beast.

It comes in a freaking telepod!  Come’on!!

And if that image doesn’t do the trick, read the details of everything in this unholy set at the solid UK horror blog I Spit on Your Movie and then proceed to hurt inside like I do.

Cool. That’s even better than the region 3 Phantasm box set I bought last year.

Also, region-free players are way cheap now. You can get them for under $100.
